The Effect of Maternal Aerobic Training Before and During Pregnancy in Sprague Dawley Rats on BAX/BCL-2 and eNOS Gene Expression of adult male offspring Vascular Tissue

Background: Pregnancy as an important part of women′s life can affect different health indicators of different aspects, including physical activity. One of the common and growing diseases is vascular disease, that eNOS, BCL-2 and BAX are related indices. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of aerobic exercise before and during pregnancy in Sprague Dawley rats on the expression of eNOS, BCL-2 and BAX genes in their femoral artery tissues.
Materials and Methods: 20 female Sprague Dawley rats(221 ± 10.85) were randomly divided into four groups:1- exercise during pregnancy (T.P), 2- exercise before and during pregnancy(Tbp), 3- exercise before pregnancy (Tb), 4- control (C). Mice performed moderate-intensity aerobic exercise before and during pregnancy. Tissue from the femoral artery of 8-week-old rats was used to evaluate eNOS, BCL-2, BAX and BAX / BCL-2 gene expression.
Results: Aerobic training before and during pregnancy, especially at both stages, resulted in a significant increase in eNOS and BCL-2 gene expression and a significant decrease in BAX and BAX / BCL-2 gene expression.
Conclusion: Based on the results, the present study protocol can make some positive changes in some of the factors related to vascular congestion in the offspring of male rats trained in these periods.
