Abstract

Up to now, several variations have been reported regarding the formation of brachial plexus and its cords; and each of these variations have importance in clinical practice. In the present report, a rare variation is reported about the situation of the medial cord and its branches. A rare variation was observed in the brachial plexus of the right axilla as the medial and lateral cords were located on the lateral side of the second part of the axillary artery and the posterior cord was in its normal position. Awareness of these variations is important to anatomists, radiologists, anesthesiologists and surgeons to interpret unexplained clinical signs and symptoms and can prevent from any post-operative complications during surgery.
