There is a close correlation between the size of airway space and the morphology of the face. The aim of this study was to evaluate the depth of upper airway by radiographies of cephalometrics in individuals with skeletal classes and vertical growth patterns. Subjects and Methods: This is a retrospective study using digital lateral cephalometric images in the Archives of Radiology Department of Ahvaz Dental School. 105 radiographic samples were examined in sagittal and vertical dimensions, and nasopharyngeal, oropharyngeal and hypopharyngeal depths were measured in each dimension. Data were analyzed by SPSS software version 22 and the results were determined by Tukey HSD and variance tests. Results: In Sagittal dimension, there is a significant statistical difference in depth of the nasopharyngeal between skeletal classes I and III and also in the depth of the oropharyngeal between classes II and III. Compared with classes I and II and classes II and III, mean hypopharynx depth is significantly different.(P<0.05) No significant statistical difference was found among the different individuals in the vertical dimension.(P>0.05) According to the results, skeletal deep bite, nasopharyngeal depth and skeletal open bite increase the depth of the oropharyngeal and hypopharynx. Conclusion: In sagittal dimension, in class I, nasopharyngeal depth and in grade III increases the depth of oropharyngeal and hypopharyngeal. In the vertical dimension, people with skeletal deep bite, nasopharyngeal depth and skeletal open bite individualy increase the depth of oropharyngeal and hypopharyngeal.}, keywords = {upper airway spaces,different skeletal classes,vertical growth patterns,Lateral cephalometry}, title_fa = {ارزیابی ابعاد فضاهای هوایی فوقانی در افراد با کلاس های اسکلتال و الگوهای رشد عمودی متفاوت در دانشکده دندانپزشکی اهواز سال 1397}, abstract_fa = {زمینه و هدف: فضاهای هوایی فوقانی از مهمترین عناصری هستند که در تنفس دخیلند. بین اندازه فضای راه هوایی و مورفولوژی صورت ارتباط تنگاتنگی وجود دارد. هدف از مطالعه حاضر ارزیابی عمق راه هوایی فوقانی توسط رادیوگرافی سفالومتری در افراد با کلاسهای اسکلتال و الگوهای رشد عمودی متفاوت می باشد. روش بررسی: این مطالعه به صورت گذشته نگر و با استفاده از تصاویر لترال سفالومتری دیجیتال موجود در آرشیو بخش رادیولوژی دانشکده دندانپزشکی اهواز انجام گرفت. 105 نمونه رادیوگرافی در ابعاد ساژیتال و عمودی بررسی شدند و عمق نازوفارنژیال، اوروفارنژیال و هایپوفارنژیال در هر بعد اندازه گیری شد. داده ها توسط نرم افزار SPSS ویرایش22 بررسی شد و نتایج با استفاده از آزمون واریانس و Tukey HSD تعیین گردید. یافته ها: در بعد ساژیتال، در بررسی عمق نازوفارنکس بین کلاسهای I وIII اسکلتال و نیز در عمق اوروفارنکس بین کلاسهای II و III تفاوت معنادار آماری وجود دارد. در مقایسه بین کلاسهای I و II و کلاسهای II و III، میانگین عمق هایپوفارنکس دارای اختلاف معنادار میباشد. (P<0/05) در بعد عمودی هیچ گونه اختلاف معنادار آماری در بین افراد متفاوت یافت نشد. (P>0/05) با توجه به نتایج، دیپ بایت اسکلتال، عمق نازوفارنکس و اپن بایت اسکلتال، عمق اوروفارنکس و هایپوفارنکس را افزایش می دهد. نتیجه گیری: در بعد ساژیتال در افراد کلاس I عمق نازوفارنکس و در کلاس III عمق اوروفارنکس و هایپوفارنکس افزایش می یابد. در بعد عمودی در افراد دیپ بایت اسکلتال عمق نازوفارنکس و در افراد اپن بایت اسکلتال عمق اوروفارنکس و هایپوفارنکس افزایش می یابد.}, keywords_fa = {فضاهای هوایی فوقانی,کلاس های اسکلتال,الگوهای رشد عمودی,لترال سفالومتری}, url = {https://jsmj.ajums.ac.ir/article_88873.html}, eprint = {https://jsmj.ajums.ac.ir/article_88873_1c98700f1bb79064632dcd11bf45fed7.pdf} }
