The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of different pre-and- inter-surgical variables such as age, gender, temporomandibular disorders (TMD), type of impaction, root morphology and experience of surgeon on the maximum mouth opening after surgical extraction of impacted third molars. Materials and Methods: In this prospective study we included seventy six patients with impacted lower or upper third molar in this study. Pre-and-per surgical variables were recorded through a questionnaire.  Degree of trismus was evaluated through maximum interincisal mouth opening before and 48 hours after surgery. Data was analyzed using T-paired in SPSS.15 software. Results: The minimum and maximuminterincisal openings before surgery were, respectively, 22 mm and 65 mm with an average of 47.1 ± 8.5 mm. Two days after operation, the maximum interincisal opening was 62 mm, and the minimum was 8 mm with an average of 28.5 ± 6.2 mm (p<0.05). None of the variables except root morphology had any significant correlation with maximum interincisal opening. However trismus was lower in patients operated with professors (attendants) than postgraduate students (p>0.05). In patients who were treated by postgraduate students was lower than that of undergraduate students (p>0.05). Trismus was high in TMD patients. Conclusion: Trismus was significantly higher in patients who had third molars with separate and divergent roots.}, keywords = {Trismus,Third molar,Impacted tooth,Postoperative complications}, title_fa = {بررسی تأثیر جراحی دندان عقل نهفته، بر میزان باز شدن دهان}, abstract_fa = {زمینه و هدف: جراحی دندان مولر سوم نهفته واکنشهای التهابی را بهدنبال دارد که باعث درد و تورم و تریسموس میشود. هدف از این مطالعه، تعیین تأثیر عوامل مختلف قبل و حین عمل مثل سن، جنس و تجربه جراح بر میزان تریسموس بعد از جراحی مولر سوم نهفته میباشد. روش بررسی: در این مطالعة آیندهنگر 76 بیمار با نهفتگیهای مختلف دندان عقل در فک بالا یا پایین شرکت کردند. عوامل قبل و حین عمل با توجه به معاینههای بالینی و رادیوگرافی در یک چکلیست ثبت گردید. میزان تریسموس از طریق بیشترین بازشدگی دهان در ناحیة دندانهای سنترال قبل از عمل و 48 ساعت پس از عمل بررسی شد. دادههای بهدست آمده، بهوسیلة نسخة 15 نرمافزار SPSS و آزمون تی جفت شده تجزیه و تحلیل شدند. یافته ها: میزان باز شدن دهان قبل از جراحی، حداقل 22 و حداکثر 65 و بهطور میانگین 5/8 ± 1/47 میلیمتر بود. 2 روز بعد از عمل، بیشترین میزان باز شدن دهان، حداقل 8 و حداکثر 62 و بهطور میانگین 2/6 ± 5/28 میلیمتر بود. هیچیک از متغیرها به جزء مورفولوژی ریشه، ارتباط مشخصی با میزان باز شدن دهان نداشتند. با وجود این، تریسموس در بیمارانی که توسط متخصصان جراحی شده بودند، کمتر از دستیاران بود. بیشترین تریسموس در موارد انجام شده توسط دانشجویان مشاهده شد. تریسموس در بیماران دارای اختلالهای مفصل بیشتر از افراد عادی بود.  نتیجه گیری: میزان تریسموس در بیمارانی که مولر سوم با ریشههای مجزا و متباعد داشتند، بهطور معناداری بیشتر بود.}, keywords_fa = {تریسموس,مولر سوم,دندان نهفته,عوارض بعد از عمل}, url = {https://jsmj.ajums.ac.ir/article_49298.html}, eprint = {https://jsmj.ajums.ac.ir/article_49298_a2389e366f321af21074c27e35faef9a.pdf} }
