Subjects and Methods: This epidemiological analytical (case- control study) was carried out on 40 diabetic patients reffered to Golestan hospital diabetes clinic of Ahvaz in 2012-2013. Patients who were treated with metformin for more than one year were considered as case group (n=20, 14 female and 6 male, aged 53.75±9.32 years) and patients who were treated with other anti-diabetic drugs and insulin were considered as control group. A fasting blood sample was collected from both patient groups and the level of serum folic acid and vitmain B12 was measured. Correlaton between serum folic acid and vitmain B12 with age, sex, disease duration, dosage of metformin intake and BMI were statitically analysed. Data analysis was carried out using SPSS 17. Results: No significant differences in B12 and folic acid serum levels between the two groups. Significant relationship was not shown between age and folic acid (P=0.47), vitamin B12 (P=0.76) serum levels as well as disease duration and body mass index (BMI). The mean serum folic acid and vitamin B12 in men and women of case group and control group showed no significant differences (P=0.7 and 0.07 respectively). Conclusion: In this study, there was no significant correlation between metformin consumption and serum vitamin B12 and folic acid levels. Age, disease duration, duration of metformin consumption, metformin dosage intake and BMI had no effect on serum vitamin B12 and folic acid levels.}, keywords = {}, title_fa = {مقایسه سطح اسید فولیک و ویتامین B12 در بیماران دیابتی تحت درمان با متفورمین با مصرف کنندگان سایر داروهای ضد دیابت و انسولین}, abstract_fa = {زمینه و هدف: این مطالعه جهت مقایسه اثر متفورمین بر سطح اسید فولیک سرم و ویتامین B12 مبتلایان به دیابت نوع دو انجام شد. روش بررسی: این مطالعه اپیدمیولوژیک تحلیلی(مورد-شاهدی) در بیماران مراجعه کننده به کلینیک دیابت بیمارستان گلستان اهواز در سال 92-1391 انجام شد. بیمارانی که بیش از یک سال تحت درمان با متفورمین بودند به عنوان گروه مورد و بیماران تحت درمان با سایر داروهای پایین آورنده قند خون و انسولین به عنوان گروه شاهد در نظر گرفته شدند. از این بیماران یک نمونه خون ناشتا (12 ساعت بعد از نخوردن غذا) اخذ و سطح سرمی ویتامین B12 و فولیک اسید در آنها اندازه گیری شد. تجزیه و تحلیل اطلاعات به کمک نرم افزار SPSS17 انجام شد.  یافتهها: در این مطالعه گروه مورد شامل20 ( 14 نفر زن  و 6 نفر مرد)  با متوسط سن 32/9±75/53 سال و گروه شاهد نیز شامل 20 نفر بودند. تفاوت آماری معنی داری بین دو گروه از نظر میانگین سطح سرمی B12 و اسید فولیک یافت نشد.(p  به ترتیب 19/0و 8/0) بین سن بیماران و میزان اسید فولیک(47/0=p) و ویتامین B12 (76/0=p) همچنین مدت بیماری ارتباطی مشاهده نگردید. میانگین سطح سرمی اسید فولیک و ویتامین B12 در زنان ومردان گروه متفورمین و سایر داروها تفاوتی نشان نداد (به ترتیب 07/0 و 7/0=P). نتیجه‌گیری: در این مطالعه ارتباطی بین مصرف متفورمین بامیانگین  سطح سرمی B12 و اسید فولیک دیده نشد. سن، مدت بیماری، طول مدت مصرف متفورمین، دوزاژ متفورمین مصرفی و BMI (نمایه توده بدنی) تاثیری در سطح سرمی ویتامین  B12و اسید فولیک نداشت.  }, keywords_fa = {دیابت,متفورمین,اسید فولیک,ویتامین B12}, url = {https://jsmj.ajums.ac.ir/article_47084.html}, eprint = {https://jsmj.ajums.ac.ir/article_47084_224ddf0e36bbc520aaf58264f395d052.pdf} }
