The aim of this study was to determine the effect of parents cigarette smoking on tonsillectomy in children referred to Kashani Hospital in Shahrekord during the period of 2017-2018. Methods: This cross - sectional study was performed on children with tonsillitis who referred to the Rasool and Imam Ali Clinic Shahrekord Medical University of Ear, Nose and Throat. 80 children aged 3 to 12 years old with tonsillitis and tonsillectomy indications were included in the study. Children age, gender and surgery type as well as information about their mother and father cigarette smoking were recorded. The data were analyzed by SPSS software using chi-square and logistic regression. Results:The cases of adenoidectomy, tonsillectomy and adenotonsillectomy were 66.3, 32.5 and 1.3%, respectively. 2.5% of mothers of children and 45% of fathers of children had cigarette smoking. From smoker’s father, 52.8% had cigarette smoking in outdoors and 47.2% had cigarette smoking in the home. There was no significant relationship between the type of surgery and status and place of cigarette smoking by mother and father. Conclusion: Although there was no significant relationship between parents' use of cigarettes and tonsillectomy, the prevalence of cigarette smoking was relatively high among fathers and further studies are necessary to elucidate the effects of this parameter.}, keywords = {"Tonsillectomy,passive smoking، children}, title_fa = {بررسی ارتباط سیگار کشیدن والدین با تانسیلکتومی در کودکان مراجعه‌کننده به بیمارستان کاشانی شهرکرد در سال ۱۳۹۶-1397}, abstract_fa = {زمینه و هدف: عفونت‌های گلو مانند تانسیلیت و فارنژیت سبب غیبت کودکان از کلاس درس، عقب افتادن از درس، تحمیل هزینه‌های درمانی و نیز افزایش مصرف آنتی‌بیوتیک‌ها می‌گردد. هدف از مطالعه حاضر، تعیین اثر سیگار کشیدن والدین بر میزان نیاز به تانسیلکتومی در کودکان مراجعه کننده به بیمارستان کاشانی شهرکرد در سال 97-1396 بود. روش بررسی: مطالعه مقطعی حاضر بر روی کودکان با تانسیلیت صورت گرفت. 80 کودک ۱۲–۳ سال با تانسیلیت مکرر و دارای اندیکاسیون تانسیلکتومی واجد شرایط ورود به مطالعه به روش آسان انتخاب شدند. ارتباط نوع بیماری با سن، جنس و در معرض قرار گیری با دود سیگار والدین مورد مقایسه قرار گرفتند. یافته‌ها با استفاده از آزمون‌های 2χ و t-test در نرم افزار SPSS مورد تجزیه و تحلیل قرار گرفت. یافته‌ها: موارد عمل جراحی آدنوئیدکتومی، تانسیلکتومی و آدنوتانسیلکتومی به ترتیب 3/66، 5/32 و 3/1 درصد بود. 5/2 درصد از مادران کودکان و 45 درصد از پدران کودکان استعمال سیگار داشتند. از پدران سیگاری ۸/۵۲ درصد در محیط بیرون خانه و ۲/۴۷ درصد در محیط داخل خانه استعمال سیگار داشتند. نوع عمل با وضعیت استعمال سیگار پدر (p=0.49) و مادر (p=0.44) و محل استعمال سیگار توسط پدر و مادر ارتباط معنی‌داری نداشت.(p=0.47) نتیجه‌گیری: هرچند ارتباط معنی‌داری بین استعمال سیگار توسط والدین و عمل جراحی تانسیلکتومی یافت نشد ولی شیوع استعمال سیگار توسط پدران کودکان نسبتاً بالا بود}, keywords_fa = {"تانسیلکتومی,passive smoking,کودکان}, url = {https://jsmj.ajums.ac.ir/article_130942.html}, eprint = {https://jsmj.ajums.ac.ir/article_130942_4ef8e200a06bfe0f9ab228288a7df2c6.pdf} }
